Explainer: According to quantum physics, the quantum state is the physical state of an object. This discipline studies small-scale matter: molecules, atoms, and subatomic particles; for this reason, it uses a different scale to ours to measure. Because of the microscopic nature of its studies and the existence of energy packages, the value of each measure can be different from each other –unlike classical physics were the value of magnitude is constant–, so it uses probability instead of determination.

Explainer: “The Uncertainty Principle (or undetermination) was formuled by Heisenberg and it explains that we can’t know the exact position and velocity of a particle, simultaneously. In other words, the more accurately you try to measure the position of the particle, the less accurately you can measure its speed, and vice versa.” (Stephen Hawking, The Universe in a Nutshell, 2001).

Explainer: “The microscopic world isn’t determinist. After the initial conditions, many possible states coexist with some probability. When we measure, the probability disappears, and only one of this possibilities ʻoccursʼ”. (Oviedo University, Quantum interactions, 2010).

Explainer: Entropy is a “the measure of the physical system disorder, is the number of redistributions of the parts of the system that doesn’t imply a change in its global aspect”. In other words, is the process of futility of an object because its natural degradation. (Stephen Hawking, The Universe in a Nutshell, 2001).

Explainer: “The [subatomic] particles possess the property to behave like waves (like water waves) and also like corpuscles (like solid objects)”. (Oviedo University, Quantum interactions, 2010). According with this concept, “there are no fundamental differences between particles and waves; particles can behave like wave and vice versa”. (Stephen Hawking, The Universe in a Nutshell, 2001).

Explainer: “At the quantum level, particles have a significant probability of crossing potential barriers (like walls to us). This property, along with intertwining are what quantum computers are based on”. (Oviedo University, Quantum interactions, 2010).

Explainer: A group of intertwining particles is defined as a system that behaves like a wave in the quantum state that involves all objects, even when they are separated and are individual particles.
